Een contact van het Burma Centrum reist door Birma om mensen informatie te geven over de verkiezingen. Dat blijkt hard nodig te zijn, want hij schrijft ons dat er veel foute informatie verspreid wordt, onder meer door de aan het regime gelieerde politieke partij:

"USDA is giving 10000 Kyat per day to one person to do campaigning for them (to anyone) and they took the signature from villagers and told to villagers that they gave their vote to them. So villagers believe that they have already given the vote. So, some have asked me questions about that. Then I showed them the Chapter (13) of the election law, about fraud and purnishment. After that we had a lot of discussions. And finally they all realized the real situation and became motivated. This is only one case. We have many other cases. So it is not easy to do free and fair elections here. We need more people to raise awareness..."
